UPPER ARTHUR STREET ON THE UP!

13 June 2016

Local retailers, Suitor Bros, are re-locating from their existing outlet on Upper Arthur Street in Belfast city centre to new premises further along the street in a move that effectively doubles their sales space.  Originally opened in 1992, Suitor Bros has been trading on Upper Arthur Street since 2000 and is a well-known independent local retailer and family business.

Commenting on the move, co-owner, Chris Suitor, said, “In addition to needing extra retail space, we have included high quality features in the fit-out such as walnut finishes, flock wallpaper and a chandelier as our central lighting feature, which gives it a more luxurious feel that appeals to our customers.  We also have an on-site tailor, which allows us to offer a be-spoke service to customers who can have full confidence that their garments are being altered professionally on the premises.”

Stephen Smith from Osborne King who negotiated the letting commented, “We are delighted to secure Suitor Bros as a tenant and it is extremely encouraging to see existing independent retailers expand their business.  Upper Arthur Street has undergone something of a renaissance lately with the Council implementing £170,000 of improvement works, which is helping to increase footfall.”

Osborne King has also agreed one of the two remaining vacant units on Upper Arthur Street to a Spanish-themed restaurant.  Remarking on this, Stephen Smith added, “The proposed tenant has submitted a planning application for change of use and we are confident that the Council will approve the application shortly.  The other remaining unit is also under offer and negotiations are at an advanced stage.”
