FRESHII TO OPEN FIRST UK RESTAURANT IN BELFAST

Canadian healthy casual food chain, Freshii, is set to open its first UK outlet within landmark Scottish Provident Building on Donegall Square West in the heart of Belfast city centre. The franchise will offer fresh and nutritious meal options specialising in salads, wraps, burritos, soups and a range of smoothies.

Currently trading out of six locations in Dublin, and with 300 locations in 85 Cities across 20 Countries, Freshii plans to open ten outlets across Northern Ireland over the next 24 months creating approximately 100 jobs in the process.  The company’s  focus initially will be on Belfast before expanding to other locations around the country.  It is expected that this first restaurant will be open and trading during February.

Stephen Smith from Osborne King, who acquired the premises on behalf of Gerry Diamond and Gerry Keogh, said that Freshii plans to introduce an exciting food option to the area, commented, “The Freshii brand is new and exciting contradicting the mainstream view that food served quickly is boring and unhealthy. Freshii are increasingly in tune with what consumers want today – the convenience of healthy fast food without compromising on quality, variety and flavour and all at an affordable price.” 

Freshii originally made waves within the industry when the founder and Chief Executive, Matthew Corrin, published an open letter to McDonald’s in an attempt to develop a partnership trial at no cost, boldly claiming Freshii would increase the turnover of McDonalds.
