23 May 2018

The newly-refurbished Moneda House, Wellington Place, Belfast welcomes its first tenant with global coffee brand Starbucks securing its latest city centre offering. The prominent corner site will have a 2,500 sq ft coffee shop to cater for the numerous office buildings and increasing student population in the area.

Moneda House has been redeveloped by Tyrone based developer, McAleer & Rushe ,and will also provide c. 17,000 sq ft of high-specification office accommodation on the upper floors. The project constitutes an investment of c. £5 million by the developers with Jonny McKinney of McAleer & Rushe commenting:-

“Moneda House is an exciting development which has received significant market interest to date.  The property is in an exceptional location within a two-minute walk to Belfast City Hall providing cutting edge contemporary retail and very high quality office accommodation in Belfast city centre, which is currently in short supply.

This significant investment in the building is fantastic news for the wider growth of Belfast as a vigorous forward-thinking international city.  It gives confidence to many new and existing world-leading companies that Belfast can cater for their office requirements.“

Osborne King delivered the letting to Starbucks and is marketing the newly-refurbished office space.  Associate Director, Richard McCaig, commented:-

“We are delighted to be marketing such a high profile scheme for McAleer & Rushe. The company has a proven track record of creating world- class buildings both in Northern Ireland and across the UK.”

He added, “We have already had significant interest from a range of office occupiers.  There is no doubt that the quality of the scheme and its prime location close to Donegall Square will be attractive to both local and national businesses.”
