2018 – STRONG HOTEL DEVELOPMENT BUT LIMITED TRANSACTIONAL ACTIVITY

The New Year celebrations have now ceased and its back to work for another year. The hospitality sector locally in 2018 was a year which saw limited transactional activity in terms of licensed premises changing ownership and probably the quietest since the early years of the recession. That said one of the main reasons for this inactivity is that the previous five years had seen a considerable shift in ownership of public houses and hotels.


A DAY IN THE LIFE

January 2019

I joined Osborne King as a graduate in 2005 and was made a director of valuation in July 2016. My work is mainly on behalf of clients and local lending institutions, preparing valuation reports and, over the last six years, I have had particular focus on the licensed and hotel market.


TWO TECH FIRMS SETTING UP IN BELFAST CITY CENTRE

Two UK tech firms are setting up shop in one of Belfast’s newly revamped city centre buildings. Tech firms CYTI and Firemelon, which are both owned by David Corney, will take on the fourth and fifth floors of Moneda House, at Wellington Place. Osborne King delivered the lettings on behalf of the landlord

Is the traditional ballroom property auction a thing of the past given the emergence of online auctions? This question was posed in the Osborne King boardroom in spring 2018 when we made the decision to invest in our online platform iOK.


OSBORNE KING DONATE TO STOREHOUSE BELFAST

In December 2018 the staff from Osborne King kindly donated food and toiletries to Storehouse Belfast. Storehouse exists to encourage dignity and significance to those living in poverty through providing the basic essentials of life.


OSBORNE KING CHRISTMAS DONATION SUPPORTS THE MITRE TRUST

January 2019

Osborne King sent a Christmas e-card in 2018 with a donation to charity. The nominated charity was the Mitre Trust based at Musgrave Park Hospital, who raise money to improve patient services and fund new developments for orthopaedics and rehabilitation in Northern Ireland.
